Drive-in Summer Lights

Heavy haze and the way the world slows down

Shedding clothes down by the river

It always brings me back to my hometown

N’ stayin’ out long after dinner

And how we’d spend the nights doin anything

Like takin’ time watchin’ the stars

A midnight showing ‘round the end of Spring

I try to catch one now and then, but it’s just not the same as when we were

Layin’ around in the dark outside of town

Underneath the summer stars, on the windshields of our cars

Thinkin’ we’ve gotta grow, but tonight we’ll take it slow

Wishin’ we could stay all night, to watch those drive-in summer lights fade away.

Takin’ the long way home with the windows down

Playin’ the same old song on the radio

Leavin’ my dust to hang above the ground

Not quite sure I know the way to go

And it just takes me back to my first car

A piece of junk I drove so much

A towel, bathing suit, and my guitar

Didn’t need much else those days

Not much hell was there to raise,

we’d be

Layin’ around in the dark outside of town

Underneath the summer stars, on the windshields of our cars

Thinkin’ we’ve gotta grow, but tonight we’ll take it slow

And maybe we’ll just stay all night, to watch those drive-in summer lights fade away.

Ain’t no time like Summertime and the memories we made,

Ain’t no time like Summertime cause some thing’s never fade.

Ain’t no time like Summertime and the memories we made,

Ain’t no time like Summertime cause some thing’s never fade.

Layin’ around in the dark outside of town

Underneath the summer stars, on the windshields of our cars

Thinkin’ we’ve gotta grow, but tonight we’ll take it slow

Wishin’ we could stay all night, to watch those drive-in summer lights fade away.
